The food was excellent! The prices were decent too. My daughters steak was cooked perfectly. The service was good and the wait for food was good. We were there at an off time but they had a large waitstaff.
After several visits I'm gonna have to downgrade my original review. There have been two consistent problems on all our visits. The small portion sizes are an issue. Side dishes in particular are downright tiny. But portions are small across the board. The service here is also a mixed bag. Once again the devil is in the details. On every visit our server has attempted to rush us through our meal. Clearing plates & glasses without asking isn't the worst thing in the world. But it was done multiple times over the course of multiple visits. The fact it's happened with different servers makes me suspect it's coming from management. They clearly want to turn tables quickly getting more butts in the seats. Being rushed through a meal however is a big restaurant no-no in my book. There's stuff to like about the place. Unfortunately experiencing these issues repeatedly isn't a great sign. It's not that I won't return, but it's also not someplace I would go regularly either.
We read the reviews before trying Cotton Patch, and was optimistic, but I have to say, the food was delicious, and I highly recommend our waitress, Amy B., to anyone who eats here. She was friendly, courteous, and kept our drinks refilled. She checked on us but was not hoovering over us.
Terrible experience... Arrived at 6:45 p.m., they were not busy at all and we were seated quickly... Then we waited until 7:05 to even get a hello from our waiter. It took him until 7:20 to bring our two drinks and take our order...never got refills on drinks, at 7:51 we still had empty glasses and no food in site, we had ordered two hamburgers which should not take 45-1 hour to prepare when they are not busy. The manager, I assume came by and asked "how are you doing? " I told her we had been waiting for almost 45 minutes for two hamburgers and would like to just pay for our drinks and go... She then argued it with me, I told her no please let us just pay for the drinks and go, my son has to be in school tomorrow, it is late and we have a long drive ahead of us. She continued to insist that I give them a chance... At this point I hated to do it but had to raise my voice and demand she let me pay for the drinks so we could go. As we left another couple had overheard the entire thing and decided they would just leave as well... Crappy service. This was the second and last time we will ever go to this restaurant.
Our overall experience was very positive; we left full and happy, and will definitely be coming back.
Also, as a mom of two ( 10 and 8) , I appreciated that the kids plate had a lot of food on them ( they got to choose two sides with their meal) and my kids actually got full. The kids menu had a lot more choices than just french fries and fruit.
Stopped in on the way to Texas. My husband and son had the 12 oz. ribeye and they were cooked perfectly medium rare. I have the Baja Tacos and they were so good. Plenty of food, tasted great, fast service, and reasonably priced. Great place to eat!!!
