Hard to say since my only point of interaction with them was to be there when they released a friend of mine, however nice the lady at the desk was at midnight, the stories told to me by my friend and others about this place do not paint a flattering picture. I don't want to go into morbid detail, but suffice to say this is a place you want nothing to do with if you can help it. Other than that, it serves its purpose with some effectiveness, I dare say. Grady is a poorly run facility with unprofessional staff and many murders have happened as the Guards have watched or encouraged the killings. It does not meet the Legal Guidelines of a Federal Holding Facility but I am sure BOP is given kickbacks to keep it running. Another source of kickbacks are from Halfway Houses encouraged to violated inmates in their facilities so they are recycled into the system. The food is garbage, unfit for animals. Medical is non-existant. It is cold. MRSA is rampant as the facility is never cleaned and dirty clothes are issued. You will not see daylight or breath clean air the entire time you are there. It is like living in a filthy submarine. One pod has over 60 people in it and it is standing room only 24/7 with only 1 working shower and 2 toilets. It should be awarded 1st Prize if there is one for American Gulags.
